iPhone 4 launch day stories yellow spots, spotty reception

Engadget is reporting a few people with the new iPhone 4, have yellow spots on their screens. But no fear, new reports coming in claiming that the spots will fade after a day or so of use. And someone posted this on AppleInsider forums.  The iPhone 4 has launched officially on 24 june 2010. Right from day one, the iPhone 4 had to endure quite the storm  people are scrutinizing the Retina Display, saying a yellow spot has appeared at the bottom, signal reception is reportedly flawed, the white version is going to be delayed and to top it all off, the special hardened glass that covers the iPhone 4 went through a nasty stress test that didn’t end so good.

The Retina Display on the iPhone 4 touts an incredible pixel density plus it should offer amazing image quality. It’s not all rainbows and butterflies though – many users report seeing easily visible spots with yellowish tint on random spots on their screens. In addition to yellow spots, some users have complained about yellow lines running across the screen. This isn’t the first time Apple has had problems with discoloration, and when the current gen iMac launched earlier this year, it too suffered from yellow spots and lines. So what’s the deal? According to one Apple Insider forum poster, it’s the result of rushed manufacturing.

In addition to the display woes, some users also report dropped signals when holding the iPhone 4 a certain way, which is apparently the result of the external antenna placement. The solution? Put the phone down for a minute or so until the signal strength is restored. Or hop over to Verizon and jump on the Android bandwagon.
